About

Hi, I’m Ryan

I’m the photographer and blogger crafting WandrLens. I am from Vietnam, but studied and lived in Singapore for almost 8 years before moving to Sydney for my Master degree. I have been living here since 2017.

My time studying and working in Singapore allowed me to discover my passion for photography early. In 2009, around 2 months after moving to Singapore, I bought my first DSLR camera, a Nikon D80, to work for the university’s student newspaper. I then started travelling outside of Singapore and found more opportunities to learn about different cultures and use photography to document my journey along the way.

Though I have been taking photos since 2009, I haven’t consolidated and posted them on any dedicated space. The closest thing I did was some occasional posts on Facebook and Instagram. One day, I cleaned up my photo storage and read travel notes, only to feel inspired by my own work. WandrLens was then started as a place for me to share stories with everyone.

Besides photography, I work as a full-time product designer in the tech industry. I have been fortunate to work with and meet people from different walks of life but share a passion for photography, travelling or life views. Talking about these passions have helped me know many great people.

This website is relatively new, so the best place for you to start is the homepage. I’m writing up many stories this year, 2020, so please stay tuned. The easy way is to fill in your name and email in the form below, and I will deliver travel stories to your inbox weekly.
